Just thought I would share this. I had another channel hit 60% engagement this week. attached. This channel doesn't follow a single rule of "video SEO". The titles, descriptions, and tags are all long and wordy, maxxed out. There are no facial expressions in the thumbnails or AI. Humanless thumbs. The links are in the descriptions. Etc, etc. The reason I am posting this is to dispell the belief that these things are in some way a) holding you back or b) helping you win. This channel is super dominant in it's niche, comprising over 40 of the top 50 videos. We tripled revenue organically via this channel. A year ago it didn't even exist.
Moral of the story. Don't assume "the rules" matter or that they work. Test everything ruthlessly and just follow your own KPIs. Don't get convinced these other things even matter. Just because someone famous said it, or does it, doesn't mean it's your path to #1. Your path might be much simpler and more direct. Question the things people say,
Youtube is a gold mine right now. But if all you're doing is emulating it's unlikely to dominate. Dare to stand out. Dare to try new ideas. The audience is listening.
