Here is something that I noticed recently.
I was looking at re-writing some of the content of one of the pages on my website using ChatGpt.
Anyway when I got the result of my prompt for the page it came up with a few citations that included Wikipedia, TripAdvisor and also the same website/page that I was doing the editing for.
Interesting thing is my page ranks very poorly. Do you think this is an indication that the content on this page at least, is quite good and a likely reason it doesn't rank is off-page reasons mainly. The main question here is do the LLM's find content to build the answer to the query more on the basis of what it believes to be the best relevant answer rather than looking at any website authority. Could this be used as a crude guide that your content is OK but your website as a whole needs authority?
