Wonky Indexing in Google?

Who here has seen websites getting a significant amount less indexed pages on Google specifically? How much?

I and a few others have noticed PBNs losing 70% indexation suddenly this week, and an ecommerce store URL update is just not budging.

Google has not been indexing pages well for a long time. I often have to use the search console to index most of my pages; however, I do mostly mass pages, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm keeping the PBNs in question away from GSC on purpose. I use external tools like OmegaIndexer to get the URLs crawled.

On low-hanging fruit sites and queries, Google responds quickly and indexes the URLs I give it. One PBN however has been nothing but trouble. One day, dozens of URLs indexed; the next it's down to 4. I ran a controlled test on a few dozen URLs to see if video elements would get more pages indexed. One of them was a success, but it only lasted a few days.

This is a mass page site with thousands of AI-generated pages. After looking at a bunch of data, me & my clients' money sites seem not to have been as affected.

Commenting on data prior to update. Google is not having trouble with discovering, crawling and indexing content. There my be a threshold for serving (being visible in the serps for queries). GSC indexation requests are 100% reliable for indexation and if that content meets a threshold or fills a collection of documents that Google was looking to fill in, that content will be served. There are lots of reasons why content will get "indexed" (GSC) but not be served in the SERPS.
