Optimal Internal Linking Methods

Has anyone tested any of the linking schemes/methods on eCommerce site and have seen that one or a different one seems to be better than the other to help rank the Category page higher? Yes a light blue page could be a product or a sub-category with its own children. I'm thinking of adjusting the default automatic linking in my CMS and was just wondering if there was a better method than another.

Hey Trey, unfortunately, I personally haven't tested this. But there is a video on Youtube from FightClub that talks about this subject. I hope it helps.
